Assignment of Suite Rooms

A suite room is a virtual room that is created by a combination of one or more physical rooms belonging to the same or different room type. For example, a suite room, SR-100, can be created by a combination of the following rooms:

  • KN-102 from King room type

  • QN-100 from Queen room type

The component rooms of a suite room can be of the bedded or non-bedded room types. A component room can be a part of multiple suite rooms. The availability of a suite room is determined by the availability of the component rooms. In the mentioned example, the suite room, SR-100, can be considered as available only when both the component rooms, KN-102 and QN-100, are not assigned to any reservation. The suite rooms are ordered and displayed for selection in the mentioned screens based on the overlap count of the component rooms.

The following table lists the suite rooms, 100A, 101A,102A, and 103A, the associated component rooms, and the overlap count of a suite room with component rooms.

The physical rooms are displayed first for selection in the mentioned screens followed by the suite rooms based on the ascending order of the overlap count. In mentioned example, the order of display of rooms will be as follows:

  • 107/108 - based on rack order (since these rooms are not part of other suite rooms)

  • 100/101/105/106 - based on rack order (since these rooms are part of 1 other suite room).

  • 102/103/104 - based on rack order (since these rooms are part of 2 other suite rooms).
